#2 Get a Pedicure

I know this is kind of a lame one. But I've never done it and people swear by it so I figured I'd give it a try. I know I’m off to a slow start, but I’ve got some cool things planned so stay tuned.

I was really hoping for every experience to give me some kind of rush. Some feeling of the unknown. I guess that's life though, some days are mundane and others are out of the ordinary.

It was like a library in there. Tiny little Asian women working away on these beautiful girls feet. I'm not one for foot fetishes but that would be the place to go to get your jollies.

Confused and befuddled I make my way to the chair. My gal spoke very little English or at least played like she couldn't. I stuck my feet into a little bath of running water that was luke warm. Being a pedicure virgin I was a little nervous about the cheese grader she was about to use on my feet. But my callus man feet handled it with no problems. My toenails were clipped and cuticles pushed back. Everything was buffed smooth and they ended with a clear coat my car would be jealous of.

The massage chair felt good and I’d be lying if I didn’t admit to cracking up at one point. The awkwardness made it all the better. Maybe it was the feeling of being a stranger in a foreign land. Perhaps she just hit a funny spot that tickled. Or maybe it was the random girl/date I brought along after only knowing her for an hour.
Either way It was a funny, decent experience and my feet feel good.

I would definitely do it again but I also don't think I ever need to.

Things I learned today
Trust shouldn't be expected. It's earned.

Nothing gets done right unless it’s properly planned.

A little ambition goes a long way.

Owning your decisions is a great way to build confidence.

Laugh at yourself first then no one can make fun of you.

#1 Create a Blog

With the days counting down to the big 3-0 I wanted to get started trying new things.

First on my list was creating a blog that documented these activities. I figured this was the best way to keep me accountable. Rather than the alternative of letting "life" get in the way of life. I've always enjoyed writing and have hardly made the time to do it in a very long time. I'm not really sure what I'm supposed to write but that's the point of this whole exercise. I want to try new things, I want to be nervous and excited. Learn new talents, traits or hobbies. Hopefully by the end of this I'll have grown as a person. I hope I'll have more than 30 new life experiences. I hope to meet new people along the way. I hope to make better connections with people I already know by experiencing something new. I'm not hung up on that number, 30 just sounded like a realistic goal within a year. Plus it has a better sound than 52 during 30.

I hope this doesn't come off as some quarter life crisis or lame coming into adulthood BS. I already had my quarter life crisis at 25 when I bought my house and hotrod. I have been an adult for as long as I can remember. People have always told me I'm an old soul and ever since I was a little guy I've been waiting to catchup to it. Recently I've found myself with more time on my hands and wanted to make something useful out of it.

Oh well, wish me luck and I hope this inspires you to do something you've always wanted to try.

Cheers!

Things I learned today:

Relationships come in many different colors; its up to you how you want to paint yours.

Next Tuesday is also this Tuesday.

An intreprenure is an employee with an entrepreneurial spirit.
Someone who treats their job as if it were their own business.

People will follow others out of pure curiosity.

Visualize your goals to create a more subconscious connection. The more realistic you can make them feel will stimulate your brain towards making them happen.
